A Day of Learning, Culture & Celebration: AGV Annual Day & Science and Arts Exhibition 2026

Adarsh Gyanodaya Vidyalaya, Barh, hosted its grandest event of the academic year on 28 March 2026 — a full day of science, art, culture, and achievement that brought together students, parents, staff, and the school's leadership in a memorable celebration of learning.

The morning of 28 March 2026 arrived with a spirit of anticipation at Adarsh Gyanodaya Vidyalaya's Nadawan Campus on NH 30A, Barh. By the time the gates opened at 11:00 AM, the campus had already been transformed — vibrant exhibition stalls lined the corridors, a decorated stage stood ready at the centre, and students dressed in colourful costumes moved purposefully to their positions. The Annual Day & Science and Arts Exhibition 2026 was not merely a school function; it was a showcase of everything that AGV stands for: academic rigour, creative expression, and the holistic development of every child.

The Block Education Officer, Barh, who had been formally invited as Chief Guest, was unable to attend on account of official commitments. In his place, the Secretary of the Adarsh Gyanodaya Educational Trust graciously presided over the event as the Chief Guest, bringing with him a deep personal investment in the school's vision and a genuine pride in witnessing its students perform. His presence ensured that the occasion retained its dignity and ceremonial warmth throughout.

The Opening Ceremony

The formal proceedings commenced with the Welcome and Lamp Lighting Ceremony, a tradition that AGV holds as a symbol of the pursuit of knowledge dispelling darkness. Principal Shree Prakash lit the ceremonial lamp alongside the Secretary and senior staff members, as the assembled students and parents observed a moment of reverence.

Principal Shree Prakash then delivered the Welcome Address, in which he reflected on the academic year gone by, acknowledged the hard work of students and teachers alike, and spoke about AGV's philosophy of nurturing children not merely as students, but as thinking, creative individuals. He expressed his gratitude to parents for their continued trust and partnership, and welcomed all guests warmly.

The Secretary, in his address as Chief Guest, commended the school's commitment to providing a holistic education. He emphasised that events such as these — which combine science, art, and cultural performance — are essential to building well-rounded personalities, and encouraged every student to pursue excellence with curiosity and courage. His words resonated with the audience and set an inspiring tone for the rest of the day.

Science Exhibition: Young Minds, Big Ideas

One of the most eagerly anticipated segments of the day was the Science Exhibition, which opened to guests and parents following the opening ceremony. Students from various classes had spent weeks preparing their projects, and the results were on full display — a testament to their curiosity, research, and scientific thinking.

The exhibition featured a wide range of projects spanning physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and technology. Students explained their work with confidence and clarity, fielding questions from parents, teachers, and the Chief Guest with remarkable composure. Several projects demonstrated a strong awareness of real-world problems — from sustainable energy models to water purification prototypes — reflecting the kind of applied learning that AGV actively encourages.

The Secretary paused at several stalls during his walkthrough of the exhibition, engaging directly with students and expressing his appreciation for the depth of their understanding. Teachers who had guided the projects were equally commended for inspiring this level of student-led inquiry.

Art Exhibition: Colour, Craft & Creativity

Running alongside the Science Exhibition was the Art Exhibition, a vibrant display of paintings, sketches, craft work, and mixed-media creations by students across all classes. The exhibition was a vivid reminder that education at AGV extends far beyond the classroom — into the realm of imagination and aesthetic expression.

From detailed pencil portraits to bold abstract canvases, from intricate paper craft to clay sculptures, the artworks reflected a wide spectrum of talent and technique. Parents lingered at the exhibition long after the performances had begun, captivated by the creativity on display. Many students had chosen themes rooted in Indian culture, nature, and social awareness — demonstrating not only artistic skill but also thoughtfulness and sensitivity.

The Art Exhibition served as a proud testament to AGV's belief that creativity is an essential dimension of a child's education, deserving the same encouragement and rigour as academic subjects.

Cultural Performances: The Stage Comes Alive

The cultural programme was the centrepiece of the Annual Day, and it did not disappoint. Spread across the afternoon, the performances drew sustained applause from the audience and left lasting impressions on all who attended.

The programme opened with the skit 'Ampadh Netaji', a humorous yet thought-provoking theatrical piece performed by senior students, which set a lively tone for the performances that followed. The audience was immediately engaged, and the confident delivery of the student cast earned them a well-deserved round of applause.

What followed was an extraordinary sequence of dances, songs, and group performances by students from Class II through Class XI of the Barh Campus, and a dedicated dance segment by students of the Nadawa Branch. The performances ranged from classical devotional numbers such as the Ganesh Vandana and folk renditions to energetic Bollywood group dances and patriotic presentations.

Younger students from Class II and III charmed the audience with their innocence and enthusiasm — their performances of 'Maine Payal hai Chankai' and 'Nagada Song Dhol Baje' were met with particular warmth from parents. The Class VII Qawwali — performed by a large ensemble of students — was a high point of the afternoon, combining vocal talent, choreography, and coordination in an impressive group effort.

The Nadawa Branch students brought a distinct energy to the stage with their themed dance segment, which included the 'Mobile Theme Dance', the spirited 'Nari Shakti' group performance, a touching 'Dance Dedicated to Father and Mother', and the lively 'Best Lazy Dance' by the boys — which had the audience laughing and clapping in equal measure.

Class IX students delivered a particularly strong set of performances, including the patriotic medley 'Bharat Paridhaan Vividhata' and the emotionally resonant 'Ram Ayenge'. Throughout the cultural programme, the meticulous scheduling ensured a smooth flow — with no student required to perform in two consecutive items — a logistical achievement that reflected careful planning by the school's coordination team.

Prize Distribution: Recognising Excellence

The afternoon concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the day for students and parents alike. Prizes were awarded across academic, co-curricular, and sports categories, recognising the diverse talents and achievements of AGV's students over the course of the academic year.

The Secretary personally presented the prizes, pausing to offer words of encouragement to each recipient. The ceremony was a deeply affirming moment — not only for the students who received recognition, but for the entire school community, which celebrated their achievements together. Teachers who had mentored and supported students through the year were also acknowledged for their dedication.

Principal Shree Prakash, in his closing remarks during the ceremony, urged all students — winners and participants alike — to carry forward the spirit of curiosity, hard work, and collaboration that had been on display throughout the day.

Adarsh Gyanodaya Vidyalaya extends its sincere gratitude to all parents, students, staff, and well-wishers who made this day possible. We look forward to welcoming you again at our future events.
